At Weldon we are committed to providing a personalised service with a high priority placed on the quality of the programs and services we offer.
Our purpose is to provide a range of children and family services that:
- care for and support children in quality educational and recreational environments;
- assist families to achieve work, education and family aspirations; and
- to support families in their child rearing practice and build family capacity
Weldon is a not-for-profit community organisation, with an impressive history supporting families and children across Inner West Sydney. We work closely with a number of primary schools to support families in achieving a work life balance. We cater for children from 5 to 12 years of age providing: before school care, after school care, care on pupil free days during school term and vacation care during school holidays. Our service locations are either on school sites or in appropriate church facilities and/or halls.
We provide early years education and care for children aged from 6 weeks to 5 years at two program locations within the Inner West.
Weldon provides support services to families by offering access to a toy library and a family support service that provides intervention and support to families in response to their unique circumstances and needs.
We believe that building meaningful relationships is key to what we do. Our ethos is to work with families, local schools and other groups to build a sense of community and belonging. Our aim is to provide a happy, safe and relaxed environment for children where friendships flourish and the activities provided engage, promote curiosity and support intellectual and social learning.
As an approved provider of child and family services our programs are licensed under the Education and Care Services National Law Act (2010). Our program delivery reflects the educational and care practices as required by the National Quality Standards and curriculum frameworks relevant to babies and children birth to five years and school age children from five to twelve years of age – the Early Years Learning Framework and My Time, Our place respectively.
